Mark SingleyStudent Loans Q&A car payments, chase bank, Credit Cards, forebearance, great lakes, hsbc, job, new apartment, paycheck, sallie mae, single one, student loan, Student Loans Q&A
I have a lot of loans to pay back and I was just thinking about consolidating all the loans into one.
I have 2 credit cards ( one in collection , one almost in collection – hsbc and chase )
Then I got a student loan ( 3 of them – One citi bank , Sallie mae and Great lakes )
I am really desperate and stressed out because every single one of the above mentioned people keep calling me daily , and with my current job situation , i just paid the deposit to move into a new apartment because there was a shooting 10 feet away from my apartment door . My car payments are also very high ( 425/ month )
I need a plan and i was intending to sell my car , then pay off my credit cards ( one by one ) .
I had 3 credit cards in the beginning , but i paid off one of them few months ago .
How can i consolidate my student loans and 2 credit cards ?
I know it’s not possible to do them together.
but the payments i am making right now are just too much for me to handle with a 0/week paycheck on top of the rent and car payments i have to make . ( – for city bank, for chase bank , 5 for hsbc , for sallie mae , Great lakes – total bal = ,000( on forebearance )

I have a degree in Business Administration but started playing poker for a living right out of college. Now I can play poker online for a secondary income. I am about to do a serious job hunt but I have some questions:
How do I show the 5 year gap in my resume? Will most businesses be turned off because I was a poker player? What should I do? Thanks for all your help!

Mark SingleyStudent Loans Q&A beauty school, college classes, fafsa, financial aid, job, pell grant, Student Loans Q&A
I’m going to a beauty school right now and I filled out my FAFSA and got a pell grant to help pay for some of it, well now I’m wanting to take some college classes this fall and I’ll need some financial aid or loans. (beauty school ends in sept, college starts aug. 25) I was told that I can’t get financial aid at both schools at the same time, and that makes sense, but when I said ok then I’ll need to get a loan they told me that a loan is considered financial aid so I couldn’t get that either… Can someone please help me figure this out, if I can’t get a loan then I can’t go back to school until next year and I don’t have a job so I don’t know if I can even get student loans!
Thanks!

Mark SingleyStudent Loans Q&A car loan, co signer, credit card, credit history, credit score, fafsa, family members, federal loans, job, last minute, money, private loan, private student, scholarships, several thousand dollars, signs, sophomore, student loan, t pay, wages
Here’s the situation:
1. I have about two months of credit history with one credit card, and I paid off the balance on time no problem.
2. I am a sophomore, have already filled out FAFSA, and am already taking out federal loans.
3. I need an additional private loan of 00 within three weeks.
4. My best candidate for a co-signer is my mother (My other closest family members are definitely unable to help me). Her credit score is good, but she has no job. She will have to get a loan of her own soon for a car, once she gets a job.
5. I have read on different websites that co-signing a loan affects the co-signer’s credit score. They all mention that a co-signer suffers if the borrower doesn’t pay payments, but I am assuming I will be able to get a job and continue to be responsible with my money. Does simply co-signing on a loan automatically hurt the co-signer’s credit score? Does this mean that my mother will not be able to get a car loan or refinance our home if she co-signs on my loan?
So my question comes in these pieces: Do I have to have a co-signer, given my nearly-non-existent credit history? Will my co-signer’s credit score suffer enough to prevent my co-signer from taking out her own loan? Also, does anyone have any recommendations on where I should go for a good private student loan?
Thank you in advance for any advice.
I am studying abroad; if I were to back out now I would be throwing away several thousand dollars. I didn’t know until last minute which scholarships I was getting (I applied to several scholarships, totaling 000, but am receiving just under half of it). The 00 deficit I am in now is after scholarships, wages, and federal aid.
