LPN advanced placement, bsn, LPN, req, sophomore 3 Comments
I want to do the LPN. BUT I want to go through the traditional nursing classes. I know that you do NOT get advanced placement with a LPN. What I want to know is do you get credit at ALL for the courses you complete? Then I can enroll as a sophomore or what not and complete my req for the actual BSN nursing program.

It does depend on the college. I transfered and lost a year, because all my credits didn’t transfer. I’m transfering again and am told it will add another 1or 2 years when I only have 1 semester left. Good luck trying to find a college that will accept all your credits- check ahead first with the BSN program.

The answer to your question will vary depending on what institution you attend. Some programs will accept some of your previous work, there’s probably at least one program out there that will accept ALL of your credits toward the LPN, and there are yet others that will not accept ANY of your work toward the LPN.
You need to check with the BSN program that you plan to attend.

I agree that it depends. The credits need to correlate with the university’s courses. Most nursing schools try hard to not take in other school’s credits. I think that they basically want more money. You will have to meet with a school counselor.
